The exhibition, which accompanies an informative project of encyclopedias on women researchers throughout history, was on display during two guided visits to the IMB-CNM with the coordinator of the initiative.

Imagine having a computer capable of performing calculations at stratospheric speed. Or of immediately solving problems that a 'normal' computer would take the same age of the universe to solve. Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Electronical, biomedical, chemical... at the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona we have many female engineers with very diverse backgrounds, meet them for the International Day of Women in Engineering!

The institute participates with a workshop for children in this new date with scientific outreach in the city. More than 150 activities and 30 spaces will fill the Born Center of Culture and Memory and the Plaça Comercial with science.

Laura Lefaix, Marc Navarro and Mercedes Saludes took the workshop "Recarrega't!" to the Ciència en Equip fair on April 13th, which filled the streets of the city with science.

The exhibition takes a journey through the history of the transistor up to the present day, illustrated by a small exhibition of wafers, xips and everything related to microelectronics and its manufacture, including a radio from the RACAB collection.

Two workshops, three guided tours, an exhibition and a guest lecture were the activities programmed during the great outreach event, held between November 13 and 20. The event is promoted by the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi) in Catalonia and, statewide, by the CSIC itself.

Nine people from IMB-CNM have contributed to spread the word about this scientific event held at European level with seven different activities that have been distributed between Barcelona, Girona, Sant Cugat and Cerdanyola del Vallès.
