Change in the board of directors of the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona
Luis Fonseca is appointed new director of the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona, with Mar Álvarez and Xavier Jordà completing the team of deputy directors. They join the management bodies in place of former director Manuel Lozano and vice-directors Cecilia Jiménez and Francesc Pérez-Murano.
Demonstrated the viability of thermal imaging with sub-10 nm resolution
A work published in ACS Nano shows a method that will allow to study the near-surface thermal and compositional properties of self-assembled block copolymers and thereby reveal their intrinsic driving forces, contributing to the progress of bottom-up manufacturing.
The IMB-CNM within the "Cerdanyola Knowledge City" brand
The City Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès launches the brand of "Knowledge City" as a reference to the identity of the municipality. It concentrates the assets that make up the value of the city: relational, cultural, social and economic. The IMB-CNM is part of this campaign and appears in the video, as it is located in the UAB Research Park, in the municipality of Cerdanyola, like many other CSIC centres.
A device monitoring heart failure from saliva co-developed by CSIC researchers
The device is the result of KardiaTool, a European project. It contains a biosensor chip developed in the Clean Room of the IMB-CNM, and functionalized magnetic nanoparticles synthesized at ICMAB, key to detect the biomarkers found in saliva.
