The IMB-CNM within the "Cerdanyola Knowledge City" brand
The City Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès launches the brand of "Knowledge City" as a reference to the identity of the municipality. It concentrates the assets that make up the value of the city: relational, cultural, social and economic. The IMB-CNM is part of this campaign and appears in the video, as it is located in the UAB Research Park, in the municipality of Cerdanyola, like many other CSIC centres.
Cerdanyola del Vallès has in its municipality the first large concentration of large-scale research facilities in Southern Europe, as well as knowledge companies. It is home to the only synchrotron light source that exists in Spain and one of the most recent in Europe, the ALBA Synchrotron. In the same way, the city hosts a university of international excellence, the Autonomous University of Barcelona. It has the Vallès Technology Park, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Research Park (PRUAB) and more than 50 leading research and technological centers.
The Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona is located within the UAB Research Park, with many other research institutes of the CSIC (such as the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona, ICMAB, or the Institute of Space Sciences, ICE, CSIC-IEEC).
