Her Excellency Haznah Md Hashim, Ambassador of Malaysia to Spain, visited the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC) on Wednesday as part of an activity organized by the Trade, Investment & Tourism section of the Embassy of Malaysia in Spain. She was received by the Deputy Directors Team, CSIC Research Professors Francesc Pérez-Murano and Neus Sabaté, and IMB-CNM Administration Manager, Mari Carmen Porto.

During the visit, the delegation learned about the institute's main research areas and its capabilities in micro and nanotechnologies, followed by a tour of the IMB-CNM Micro and Nanofabrication Clean Room. To commemorate the visit, the institute presented the Ambassador with a personalized silicon wafer (main picture), and she signed the IMB-CNM’s official visitors’ book.

The Ambassador signed the book using a pen with a special ink containing personalized chips with the CSIC logo. These chips are based on a patented CSIC technology developed under the leadership of the IMB-CNM's Micro and Nanotools Group. Researcher Juan Pablo Agusil introduced the technology and showed the chips to the Ambassador under a microscope (third picture below).

The visit provided an opportunity to present IMB-CNM's capabilities and to exchange views on areas of mutual interest, particularly in the field of semiconductor technologies.
