FutuRed, the Spanish Electrical Grid Platform, was created to foster the technological evolution of Spanish electricity transmission and distribution systems in order to promote the technological leadership, the sustainable development and an increased competitiveness. The IMB-CNM has become member through the Power Devices and Systems (PDS) group.
PhD student Mireia Burdó Masferrer, Chemical Transducers Group, wins 5th place on the Youtube contest Yo Investigo Yo Soy CSIC, organised by the Department for Postgraduate and Specialisation of the CSIC.
The IMB-CNM's technology-based company, Energiot, is one of the 12 finalists in the seventh edition of the EDF Pulse start-up Awards, organized by the largest French energy company. Energiot has developed autonomous IoT sensors that recharge from the magnetic field around overhead power lines, and collect data from the power transmission grid. These can be used to predict unexpected events and produce detailed maps of power transmission lines.
The researcher of the reference center in microelectronics in the country has received a Junior Leader Retaining research grant, in the postdoctoral fellowships call.
The Chinese Students and Scholars Association has donated to the IMB-CNM and other institutions some protective masks.
