On April 27, two representatives of the Science and Technology Division of the Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) visited the IMB-CNM facilities. This visit is intended to strengthen the current relationship between MOST and CSIC, and to explore new scientific collaborations between CSIC institutes such as IMB-CNM and some of the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) in Taiwan.

The Taiwanese delegation was led by Prof. Jing-Yi LIN, Director of the Science and Technology Division (MOST Liaison Office in France) under the Taipei Representative Office in France, and Mr. Kevin W.J. CHUANG, Third Secretary/Officer of said Office. They were accompanied by Mónica Martín-Lanuza, Coordinator of the International Cooperation and Resources Area of the VRI.

Mar Álvarez and Xavier Jordà, deputy directors of the institute, led the visit, alongside Jofre Pallarès and Miguel Zabala.

"We have a long tradition of partnerships and collaboration with international institutions and we aim to be part of a bigger ecosystem comprising the main players in microelectronics. We offer our knowledge in the management of large facilities, such as the Clean Room, as well as our expertise in micro and nanoelectronics. The Taiwan delegation is well versed in microelectronics design and fabrication, as they are home to some of the biggest foundries. We want our researchers to work together and build new paths for microelectronics development", explains Xavier Jordà about the nature of the visit.
