The IMB-CNM has successfully renewed its quality certification for the production of electronic devices
The certification covers the design, development, and production processes for micro- and nanoelectronic devices in the cleanroom, and the IMB-CNM has been accredited for the past three years

The Micro and Nanofabrication Clean Room at the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, part of the CSIC) and the D+T Microelectronics Economic Interest Group have successfully renewed their ISO 9001:2015 quality certification. Theis seal, first obtained in 2023, has been reissued following the successful completion of annual follow-up audits and is valid for three years.
The certification covers the design, development, and production processes for micro and nanoelectronic devices in the Clean Room. The ISO 9001 standard is the most widely used quality management model in customer-supplier relationships, both nationally and internationally, and ensures that work is carried out in accordance with systematic procedures recognized by the industrial community. Its renewal consolidates the continuity of the IMB-CNM management system and keeps it aligned with major European infrastructures, such as the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Portugal or the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
Obtaining and renewing this standard is also a standard requirement for clients to market their products to third parties. The certification project involves the IMB-CNM, its Clean Room—the main node of the distributed ICTS MICRONANOFABS—and D+T Microelectrónica. The three entities coordinate through the Quality Committee, headed by Daniela Bassignana.
In addition, the committee is composed of the management of the three entities: the director of IMB-CNM, Luis Fonseca; the director of D+T Microelectrónica A.I.E., Manuel Lozano; and the director of the Clean Room, David Quirion. Plus three more people with training in quality have joined the committee: the head of quality and continuous improvement at the Clean Room, Ana Sánchez; the head of the quality management system at the Chemical Transducers Group, Ferran Vera; and the Quality technician, Evelyn Castro.
