By Borja Sepúlveda (MNTL group, IMB-CNM)

This seminar will provide an overview of the “Opto-magnetic nanodevices” research line that was started at the ICN2 in 2014, as well as the related ongoing research projects and future perspectives. In particular, the seminar will focus on the recent research or wirelessly controlled opto-magnetic nanocapsules and nanostructures, based on large-scale colloidal nanolithographies, for biomedical and environmental applications.

About Borja Sepúlveda

Borja Sepulveda received his PhD degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2005. His PhD research was carried out at the Microelectronics Institute of Madrid (IMM-CNM, CSIC). In 2006 he started a two years Postoctoral stay at the Bionanophotonics and Bioimaging group in Chalmers University of Technology (Göteborg, Sweden). In 2008 he joined the Institut Català de Nanociencia i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) as Research Fellow, where he got a Ramon y Cajal grant in 2009. In 2012, he got a permanent CSIC researcher position at the ICN2. In 2021 he moved to the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM-CSIC).
