The IMB-CNM opens its doors every year for Science Week, which is held in November. This year, it has decided to hold other Open Doors days in the first half of the year. From May 18 to 20, the institute opened its doors for three daily shifts, which were accessed by registration.

Joan Bausells, Cecilia Jiménez, Joan Marc Rafí and Jordi Sacristan have been the four people in charge of carrying out the visits, who accepted up to a maximum of 8 people per shift. The visits begin at the entrance of the institute and include a walk through the Zenon Navarro Microelectronics Museum, which houses old equipment from the Clean Room, now out of use. In this space, the group can learn about the manufacturing stages of a chip and see old equipment and processed wafers. During the last part, they can access the perimeter corridor that surrounds the Micro and Nanofabrication Clean Room, a Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS), recognized by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. From the exterior windows you can see the central corridor of the room, the dressing room and the Photolithography and Wet Engraving areas.

The Open Doors activity is a firm commitment by the institute to in outreach and dissemination to reach all audiences and promote awareness of the activity of the research centers among citizens. Visits are open to anyone interested. Later, new dates!
