Development of radiation hard 4H-SiC detectors for new radiotherapy treatments
In recent years, interest in advanced radiotherapy modalities, such as ion beam therapy and FLASH radiotherapy, has increased significantly. This new modilities offer potential advantages over conventional radiotherapy, allowing to deliver a very high and localized dose to a target volume, and reducing the radiation-induced damage to healthy tissues. In this context, solid-state radiation detectors, such as 4H-SiC detectors, are promising candidates for dosimetry and microdosimetry due to their potential for accurate measurements under challenging irradiation conditions.

I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Barcelona. I am currently completing a PhD in the Radiation Detectors Group (RDG), where my research focuses on the development and characterisation of semiconductor radiation detectors.
From photons to bits: reading out an uncooled infrared camera
How does a camera turn infrared light into an image? Beyond the sensor itself, the hard part is the electronics behind every pixel, which have to read a tiny signal buried under a large background, and do it fast. This talk walks through how these readout circuits work, where the signal should be digitized, and how these choices are applied in the readout chip developed in my thesis.

About the speaker
Eva Deltor is a third-year PhD student at the Integrated Circuits and Systems (ICAS) group of IMB-CNM (CSIC). She designs analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, with a focus on readout electronics for uncooled infrared cameras, the topic of her thesis.
