#IMBCNMTalks ECOTRONIC: Towards more sustainable electronics

By David Batet, PhD student in the groups SPEED (MESSI), GAB and ICAS.

Because of the high demand on electronic devices and the “use and dispose” economy, e-waste generation and management is currently a major concern. Given this problematic, the objectives of the EcoTronic project are the development of printed electronic components using biodegradable functional inks and substrates, as well as, their integration in a self-sustaining electronic device. As an initial starting point, novel inks have been formulated and used in the fabrication of working electrodes.
