Dr. César Pascual - Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)

LIST is the Luxembourgish Research and Technology Organization (RTO) founded in 2015 and active in the fields of advanced materials, environment technologies, and Information Technologies. In the Materials Research Technology department the Nano-Enabled Medicine and Cosmetics develops research around three main enabling technologies: Nanoparticle colloids, Nanostructured surfaces and Sensors and actuators. I will present a brief introduction to our activities to open discussions for possible collaborations, followed by an example of a device developed by our group for the electrochemical control of acidity in miniaturisedenvironments in the framework of electrochemical actuators.

Dr. César Pascual García: (Lead Research Associate) holds a MSc. in Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and a PhD defended at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Italy, studying electron interactions in semiconductor quantum dots. Before joining the CRP-GL (former LIST). He was scientific advisor at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission at the Institute for the Health and Consumer Protection, being in charge of development of physical characterisation methods of nanomaterials. In his current position as Lead Research Associate in LIST heads the research activities on electrochemical sensors and actuators integrated with lab-on-a-chip devices. He is the principal investigator of NANOpH one of the strategic projects of the Luxembourgish funding agency (FNR) for the development of biopolymer microarrays with electrochemical in-situ synthesis.
