IMB-CNM participates with two scientific talks in European Researchers Night 2024
A predoctoral and a postdoctoral researcher participate in the European Research Night 2024 with scientific micro-talks.
The IMB-CNM contributed with two talks to the European Researchers' Night 2024, a European event to bring science to the streets with activities spread all over Catalonia that took place the last week of September.
La física com a eina contra el càncer
IMB-CNM predoctoral researcher Carla Riera Llobet gave a talk on her research and the development of tools that improve proton therapy treatments, proton radiotherapy, through algorithms that make them much more precise and generate fewer side effects. This talk was held on September 26 at Vil·la Urània, along with others on health and biomedicine.
El color estructural: dels camaleons a les noves tecnologies
As part of the activities at the Campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), postdoctoral researcher Ferran Pujol Vila started with the question “What is structural color?” to talk about its importance in nature, the artificial creation of structural color and its application in new technologies, such as in the Tecniospring Industry project (MSCA cofund), in the development of mechanical sensors with chromatic response. The activity took place in the framework of other scientific talks on September 27th at the Central Axis of the UAB.
Noche Europea de la Investigación
The European Researchers' Night is a public event dedicated to the popularization of science. Its aim is to bring research, innovation and its protagonists to the public of all ages in a simple and fun way. This event is held every year in more than 300 cities in 30 European countries at the same time. In Catalonia, the actions in which the IMB-CNM participated were coordinated by the Catalan Association of Scientific Communication (ACCC).
