PIXEurope Connect – Industry Ecosystem Building Day is a pan‑European event bringing together end‑users, technology providers, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss the present and future of the first fully integrated European Pilot Line for Photonic Chip development.
The event will showcase the PIXEurope Pilot Line for industry, followed by an end-user panel to discuss collaboration opportunities and industry needs across the full PIC value chain — including design, materials and equipment suppliers, manufacturing, integration, and emerging applications.
PIXEurope is a pilot line initiative developed under the European Chips Act and implemented through the Chips Joint Undertaking, aimed at strengthening Europe’s capabilities in integrated photonics. This initiative is a key step toward technological sovereignty and job creation within the EU. To do so, this consortium brings together 20 entities from Spain, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, and the UK. It is coordinated at the European level by the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), based in Barcelona. Among the Spanish partners, IMB-CNM plays a significant role as a technological core, leading efforts to incorporate advanced equipment for the fabrication and characterization of silicon nitride photonic chips.
