About the thesis
The current ATLAS Inner Detector at CERN will be upgraded to the new Inner Tracker (ITk) to meet the demands of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), which requires detectors capable of withstanding harsh radiation conditions. To achieve this, a new generation of silicon strip sensors has been developed to enhance detector robustness and long-term stability.
The objectives of this thesis are to develop, implement, and validate a comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) framework for ITk strip sensor production, to systematically analyze production results, and to conduct targeted investigations beyond nominal operating conditions.
Overall, this thesis delivers an end-to-end QA framework, validated through large-scale production and extended experimental studies, ensuring that the ITk strip sensors meet the stringent performance requirements of the HL-LHC upgrade.
