The company co-founded by Neus Sabaté, an IMB-CNM researcher, receives the "Best in Class" award in the "Tech Transfer" category for its development of paper-based ecological batteries. The "Best in Class" awards, with four categories, recognize projects with a high disruptive profile and business transformation. Fuelium batteries do not generate toxic waste and can power a wide variety of single-use devices.

The center brings three activities of scientific culture to the 16th Festa de la Ciència, organized by the Barcelona City Council, which this year will be held on the Rambla de Prim. The event is the largest science outreach event for all audiences in Barcelona and will take place on the weekend of June 10 and 11.

After four years of interruption, the IMB-CNM rejoins the Iberian Delegation at the Micromachine Summit in Bucharest (Romania) between May 21 and 23 with researchers Luis Fonseca and Carles Cané.

This public-private initiative will aim to attract projects from leading companies in the sector, train, attract and retain specialized talent, promote research and innovation and connect the local ecosystem to the world. The IMB-CNM is part of the governance body of this initiative, the Semiconductor and Chip Alliance, formed by several departments of the Government of Catalonia, companies and agents of the research system.
