Science and literature come together at ICMAB and IMB-CNM for Sant Jordi celebration
The Institute of Materials of Barcelona (ICMAB) and the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM) celebrated Sant Jordi’s Day together, bringing science and literature together in an inspiring way.
The two CSIC institutes, neighbours in the UAB Research Park, co-organised an event that took science outreach into the realm of literature. The programme included four talks exploring the world of words from diverse perspectives, with two speakers from each research centre.
- The story of the best seller through the ages- Iker Uranga Granados (IMB-CNM)
- The materiality of the digital era - Pep Fontcuberta (ICMAB)
- Printing Press Drama - Juan Pablo Agusil (IMB-CNM)
- The German beginnings of NASA - Oriol Roig (ICMAB)
In addition to the talks, the celebration became a moment to discover new books and, discuss those already read, as well as other literary curiosities. There was also a book exchange among participants, allowing stories to travel further beyond the event.
This joint celebration is living proof that scientific culture and literature can engage in dialogue and mutually enrich each other, while also serving as a way to strengthen the bonds of communities that, although working in different fields, share the same curiosity about the world.
