ERC Consolidator Grant
Dr. Neus Sabaté has been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant to develop paper fuel cells fed with biological fluids
Dr. Neus Sabaté, “Ramón y Cajal” researcher and leader of the micro fuel cells research line at IMB-CNM, has been awarded a Consolidator Grant by the European Research Council for the project SUPERCELL (Single Use paPER fuel CELLs). The objective is to develop fuel cells made on paper which can produce electrical energy from organic molecules such as ethanol, glucose or urea. These energy sources would be ecological, single use, and would allow powering disposable diagnosis devices such as pregnancy tests or glucometers, using as fuel the same fluid to be analyzed.
