IMB-CNM Talks: 3D Detectors for High-Energy Experiments - David Quirion, IMB-CNM.

Abstract: 3D silicon detectors represent the state-of-the-art in radiation-hard detectors for high-energy physics. In this talk, I will first introduce particle detection in high-energy experiment and explain the comparative advantages of 3D detectors over planar technology. Then, I will present the detailed fabrication of this unique technology at the IMB-CNM clean-room. Finally, I will review the use of these detectors in current experiments at CERN and present the plan for future production at IMB-CNM for the High-Luminosity LHC upgrade.
